Deputy Prime Minister of Fiji Emphasizes Importance of WTO Conference in Abu Dhabi

Manoa Kamikameka, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Trade, Cooperatives, Small and Medium Enterprises and Communications of the Republic of Fiji, stressed the importance of the activities of the Thirteenth Ministerial Conference of the World Trade Organization, which is being held in the capital, Abu Dhabi, to discuss reshaping the future of global trade and the challenges it faces.

He said that the main issue that he hopes to reach a solution during the Ministerial Conference in Abu Dhabi is the Fisheries Support Agreement, which was partially agreed upon in the previous Ministerial Conference, and we will demand from the conference a greater vision regarding support in our region, to ensure that our fishing stocks remain sustainable, in addition to To our desire to create a special industry, with regard to fishing.

Manoa added in a statement to the Emirates News Agency, WAM, on the sidelines of the activities of the first day of the organization’s thirteenth Ministerial Conference: “We are at the thirteenth Ministerial Conference in Abu Dhabi, to find solutions to the issues and challenges facing us, especially with regard to fishing, which is one of the sources of “Our president, so we are determined to achieve some good results.”

He said that the outcomes of this event will be important and necessary for the Republic of Fiji and the Pacific region, as the conference addresses many important issues that concern our region.

The Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Fiji expressed his thanks to the UAE for hosting this important event for all countries of the world. He said that the UAE is one of the leading countries in the field of global trade, and is an example for the rest of the world, and we came to Abu Dhabi to see what we can learn from the UAE, in order to advance foreign trade in our country, and we also have some business opportunities in the Pacific region, We look forward to attracting investors from the UAE.
