On Thursday, May 27, Deputy Defense Minister of the Russian Federation Lieutenant General arrived in Belarus Yunus-Bek Evkurov… His plane landed in Machulishchi near Minsk.
As reported on website The Ministry of Defense of Belarus, within the framework of the visit, Yevkurov will take part in the reconnaissance of the areas of the joint strategic exercise of the armed forces of the two countries “West-2021”.
At the same time, the Telegram channel Infantry Day notes that the purpose of the general’s visit is to resolve technical issues on the permanent deployment of a contingent of Russian troops on the territory of Belarus.
Note that on the same day, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin arrived in Minsk on a two-day visit. In particular, he will meet with his Belarusian counterpart Roman Golovchenko and take part in a meeting of the Council of CIS Heads of Governments.
