By order of Prime Minister Kiril Petkov, Atanas Dobrev has been relieved of the post of Deputy Minister of Agriculture as of today, the press center of the Council of Ministers announced.
Reasons for his release are not specified.
In recent weeks, Atanas Dobrev has been constantly attacked by “We Continue Change” MP Alexander Dunchev for removing professionals from forestry and appointing party cadres.
Atanas Dobrev has been working for the Ministry of Agriculture for 20 years. He has been Deputy Minister since 2017 – from the government of Boyko Borissov, and then to the caretaker government.
His release comes a few days after President Rumen Radev criticized the cabinet for firing members of the caretaker government, which revealed GERB’s corruption schemes.
