Deputy Minister Kartika Wirjoatmodjo: Process of Dissolving 7 BUMNs Depends on Speed of Asset Sales

Jakarta

Deputy Minister of BUMN Kartika Wirjoatmodjo said that the process of dissolving 7 BUMNs depended on the speed of asset sales. However, he estimates that the sale of these assets will take an average of 1-2 years.

The man who is familiarly called Tiko said that the most important thing in dissolving a BUMN is the issuance of a Government Regulation (PP).

“For us and the Ministry of Finance, the important thing is until the PP comes out,” he said at the Danareksa Tower, Jakarta, Friday (29/12/2023).

He said, once the PP was issued, the process of selling these assets would be handed over to the curator. He said the sales process takes an average of 1-2 years.

“After the PP goes out, it goes to the curator, now the curator actually depends on the speed of asset sales. It can’t be predicted, but on average it might take 1-2 years, because he has to sell the assets,” he explained.

After that, the proceeds from the sale of assets will be distributed to those who are entitled. “Then the assets are divided among creditors and holders of all kinds of liabilities,” he added.

President Director of PT Perusahaan Pengelola Aset (PPA) M Teguh Wirahadikusumah explained that the process of dissolving BUMN is going through the courts. There is also the issuance of Government Regulations (PP).

“Of these 7, 6 have already received their PP, the PP for dissolution is April 2023, then the process will be carried out by the curator to settle the assets. Now for the other one, PT PANN is still having discussions with the relevant government institutions regarding the next process,” he said
