The deputy mayor of Traditions, María del Mar Collado, along with other councilors, went to the Theater, as well as representatives of the brotherhood world, such as the president of the Local Council of Brotherhoods, José Luis Perales. The event was hosted by Salvador Serrano, from Canal San Roque/Multimedia.
All seats were filled, both in the stalls and in the amphitheater, which translated into a resounding success in attendance. Originally it was going to be held outdoors in the Plaza de Armas, but due to the presence of Storm Karlotta in the area, it was decided to move it to a covered and safe location such as the Juan Luis Galiardo Theater, correctly, since Rain forecasts for the entire day on Sunday were met.
As on previous occasions, the public responded with their presence to enjoy the pieces offered by two important groups from Andalusia.
It was “Pasión de Linares”, a musical group from this town in Jaén that combines harmony, variety, and the mix of the classic with the current and own. The group started in 1996 and since then it has become the great reference for processional music of this style. The Jaén group performed the following marches:
“My bronze Christ”, “Blood on your nails”, “Tied to the column”, “To the Lord of the arrest”, “Praying to heaven”, “The Nazarene”, “Luni Arae” and “The one I kissed” . They ended with an “encore.”
The second group was the Nuestra Señora de la Victoria Bugle and Drum Band, popularly known during Holy Week in Seville as “Las Cigarreras” and founded in 1979, as well as the Sagrada Columna y Azotes Bugle and Drum Band, a former youth band. and founded in 1992, they belong to the Brotherhood of the Sacred Column and Azotes of Seville.
The Sevillian group performed “Eucharist”, “Sacred Decree”, “The Lord of the Holy Supper”, “Jesus, Savior and Sovereign”, “Jesus in His Capture”, “Victory!”, “And on the Other Shore” (release in 2024) and “Gash Shemanim”. They concluded with two “encores”, marches considered unofficial and which delighted the public.
The Deputy Mayor of Traditions, María del Mar Collado, presented plaques to the groups in gratitude, after the performances of each of them.
The “Passion Concert” is organized by the City Council with the collaboration of the Local and Sacramental Council of Brotherhoods and Brotherhoods of San Roque. Admission is free until capacity is reached.
