Deputy Mayor of South Jakarta: Apart from Covid-19, dengue cases also threaten residents

TRIBUNJAKARTA.COM, KEBAYORAN OLD – Vice Mayor South Jakarta Isnawa Adji reminding the public of the dangers disease dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF).

According to Isnawa, the public needs to anticipate DBD apart from preventing the spread of the virus Covid-19.

“Although still in the midst of a pandemic Covid-19, but case DBD also threatens,” Isnawa said in his statement, Saturday (12/24/2021).

Isnawa appealed to residents in South Jakarta to be diligent in cleaning the house and its environment to ensure that it is free from mosquito larvae.

“The possibility of breeding places for mosquito larvae is very possible in the rainy season,” said the former Head of the DKI Jakarta Environmental Agency.

Previously, the case dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF) in the region South Jakarta continues to increase.

Throughout December 2021, there was an increase of 176 cases DBD from South Jakarta.

Thus, the total cases DBD from South Jakarta during the period January to December 2021 reached 600 cases. Infected residents DBD ages from toddlers to adults.

“As of December, the total number of dengue fever cases is 600,” said Head of the South Jakarta Health Service (Kasudinkes) M Helmi when confirmed, Sunday (12/19/2021).

Nonetheless, Helmi mentioned the case DBD from South Jakarta This year has decreased compared to 2020.

“Still lower than last year. Last year it was around 1000’s (cases DBD), “he said.

In order to anticipate increasing cases DBD, Helmi urged the community to maintain a clean lifestyle.

“We also run an independent jumantik (later monitor) so that residents can clean themselves. We are still doing that,” concluded Helmi.
