Due to the construction site for the “Quadrill” high-rise project at the Linzer Tabakfabrik, there are also restrictions for pedestrians crossing in the area of ​​the lower Danube lände.

In order to improve traffic safety, two measures are being taken on the initiative of the mobility officer, Deputy Mayor Martin Hajart, which will be implemented shortly. On the one hand, the existing crossing aid, a central island, at the level of Gruberstrasse is additionally secured with pictograms on the roadway and lighting that improves the light conditions in the evening hours. The relevant work is to be implemented in early summer.

It is also planned to re-establish a traffic light-controlled protection road crossing at the Untere Donaulände/Rechte Brückenstraße intersection during the holiday season, when there is less traffic.

“With these measures, which will be implemented promptly, the wishes of the residents will also be met. The city of Linz does not incur any costs from these two projects, as these are carried out by the project operator of the Quadrill respectively. be taken over by the construction company,” informs the mobility officer, Deputy Mayor Mag. Martin Hajart.
