Deputy Head of Academic Affairs at STIK Lemdiklat Polri, Brigadier General Asep Adi Saputra, Passes Away from Heart Attack During Panel Discussion

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – Deputy Head of Academic Affairs at the College of Police Science (STIK) Education and Training Institute (Lemdiklat) PoliceBrigadier General Asep Adi Saputra, died on Wednesday afternoon, 7 June 2023.

Asep’s death was confirmed by Assistant Chief of Police for Human Resources (As SDM) Inspector General Dedi Prasetyo.

“That’s right (Asep’s death). Innalillahi wainailaihi rojiun. Hopefully the deceased will get the best place by His side,” said Dedi Prasetyo when contacted, Wednesday, June 7, 2023.

Asep died at the Central Army Hospital (RSPAD) Gatot Soebroto at 11.25 WIB. Asep allegedly died of a heart attack while attending a panel discussion on the Archipelago Insights panel at the Unity in Diversity Room of Lemhannas RI. When this news was written, the body was still at the RSPAD.

Asep is known as a humanist figure. In fact, his name was once suggested as a candidate for the 2022 Hoegeng Awards for taking a humanist approach to conflict resolution Mbah Priok’s grave in 2010.

Asep has assumed the position of Deputy Chairperson of the STIK Lemdiklat Polri Bidakademic since August 3 2020. This 1994 Police Academy graduate has experience in the field of detectives. He started his career as Pamapta Bogor Resort Police on January 1, 1995.

Then, his detective skills were honed when he served as Head of the Cilegon Police Research Unit on February 2, 1997. Until then he served as Head of Criminal Investigation Unit at the Tangerang Metro Police on February 3, 2004.

On May 8, 2008, Asep became Kapolsek Metro Penjaringan, North Jakarta. Until then Asep became Deputy Chief of North Jakarta Metro Police on September 28, 2014.

His teaching journey began when he became a Main Lecturer at STIL Lemdikpol on May 13 2015. Then, he was entrusted with the position of Head of Subdirectorate I of the Directorate of Certain Crimes at Bareskrim Polri on December 31 2015. On November 14 2016 he was transferred to be Kapolres Metro Bekasi.

Asep began to enter the public relations field when he served as Associate Policy Analyst for Public Information in the Public Relations Division of the National Police on November 16 2017. Until then he served as Head of the Public Information Section of the Divhumas Polri on March 14 2019. From the Kabagpenum, Asep Adi Saputra served as Widyaiswara of the Main Police Level II Sespim Lemdiklat Polri on May 1 2020 before being awarded one star as Deputy Head of Academic Affairs for the College of Police Science (STIK).
