(Editor: Press – Communication Department). Deputy Guillermo Rodríguez (Yo Creo-Alto Paraná), presented a bill “That prohibits the inclusion in the Expanded Immunization Program and the National Vaccination Scheme of the Ministry of Public Health and Social Welfare, the so-called Covid vaccines. 19”.
The legislator explains, in his explanatory statement, that at the time of the pandemic and, given the need to save the lives of our compatriots, the vaccines that Paraguay could obtain at that time were chosen.
“The application of these vaccines was carried out within the framework of a national emergency, ignoring all the standards established by Law No. 4621/12, National Vaccines, says part of the explanatory memorandum. He adds, however, that we are no longer in a pandemic and that it is necessary to comply with what the aforementioned law establishes.
“In articles 7, 8, 11 and 12 (National Vaccine Law No. 4621/12), it is established that the Technical Advisory Committee on Immunizations, with the Ministry of Public Health and Social Welfare, must evaluate, periodically, with scientific criteria, to continue applying these vaccines, since on the contrary there are international media publications from European countries that have suspended certain vaccines and even prosecuted companies that have manufactured some of these vaccines,” the document reads.
The legislator said that this project seeks to prevent vaccines against Covid-19 from becoming a mandatory vaccine, “putting at risk the integrity of boys and girls in early childhood, since there is no scientific evidence of the benefits of these vaccines, but on the contrary, there are very harmful side effects such as myocarditis and other no less dangerous side effects.”
He added that he is aware that within the Expanded Immunization Program (EPI), vaccines against COVID-19 are not currently contemplated, but he assures that the Ministry of Public Health and Social Welfare has a vaccination program and that on its portal you can Note the regions where vaccinations have been carried out, mentioning the doses and boosters.
He explained, on the other hand, that parliament must be informed of the results of the application of these vaccines, as well as the scientific studies and conclusions of the Technical Advisory Committee on Immunizations, “for the purposes of safeguarding the Paraguayan population from the side effects of vaccines and establish, if necessary, a rehabilitation program for adverse manifestations of vaccines within the Ministry of Public Health and Social Welfare.”
In essence, the project “prohibits the inclusion of the so-called vaccines against Covid-19, in the Expanded Immunization Program and the National Vaccine Scheme of the MSP and BS, or any other program that has been established by the Ministry of Public Health and Welfare Social, until Articles 8 and 10 of Law No. 4621/12, National Vaccines, are fully complied with.”
The project will be analyzed in the Legislation and Codification commissions and in the Public Health commission.
