Jakarta –
The chairman of the DKI Jakarta DPRD, Prasetio Edi Marsudi, said that entrepreneurs are reluctant to become sponsors Formula E to avoid political turmoil. Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta Ahmad Riza Patria referred to this as Prasetio’s opinion.
“Yes, that’s everyone’s opinion,” said Riza Patria at DKI Jakarta City Hall, Jl Medan Merdeka Selatan, Central Jakarta, Thursday (3/2/2022).
Riza said everyone can express their opinion in a democracy. He asked for Formula E matters to be asked to JakPro as the organizer.
“Indonesia is a democratic country, reform, everyone can argue. The important thing is, all compacts are united in building the nation in their own way,” he said.
Previously, Prasetio Edi Marsudi said that investors were reluctant to become Formula E sponsors. The reason is that investors do not want to be openly involved in the political chaos caused by Formula E.
Pras – as he is familiarly called – said that the beginning of Formula E on the political agenda was when the Governor of DKI Jakarta Anies Baswedan invited seven factions of the DKI Jakarta DPRD for dinner and was absent from the plenary interpellation initiated by the PDIP and PSI factions.
“After that time everything related to Formula E was a political event,” said Prasetio in his statement, Thursday (3/2/2022).
The PDIP politician said that the DKI Provincial Government is the organizer of Formula E in Jakarta. This is reinforced by the Governor’s instructions to the Youth and Sports Office to budget and pay commitment fee Formula E of Rp 560 billion.
However, in 2021, Anies stated that Formula E is a business to business so that the provincial government is no longer involved. In addition, Anies appointed Ahmad Sahroni as the Chief Executive of Formula E Jakarta, who in fact is a politician.
This condition is believed by Pras to be the cause Formula E unattractive to investors. In addition, Anies’ term as Governor of DKI will end in October.
“Entrepreneurs don’t want to get involved in political noise. That’s why they don’t want to invest in Formula E,” he said.
