Deputy Director of National Investigation Service Calls for Reform of Judicial System Amidst Assassination Attempt Against Chief Prosecutor Ivan Geshev

He commented on the presence of the Israeli anti-terrorism expert at the scene of the explosion next to the motorcade of the chief prosecutor Ivan Geshev.

The Israeli expert was in Bulgaria on a completely different occasion. We went to the scene at his suggestion. We found out about the explosion at the same time, as we were together with the Israeli expert, Todorov said.

The Israeli services are fully ready to assist. They are ready to provide any expert assistance in the case, he added.

I do not think that an additional examination by an expert with world experience would have hindered the investigation. On the contrary, he would help, pointed out the deputy director of the NSLS.

He explained that he found out about the explosion from journalists. I wrote a message to the chief prosecutor asking if it was okay, he said it was okay, Yasen Todorov said.

He said he would talk to Mr. Sarafov (Director of the National Investigative Service and Deputy Chief Prosecutor – b. row) and it was found that there was no procedural obstacle.
