Deputy Chairman Dmitry Medvedev Criticizes Polish President’s Comments on Ukraine

Deputy Chairman of the Security Council Dmitry Medvedev commented on the words of Polish President Andrzej Duda about a “cheap” way for the United States to stop “Russian imperialism”, since their soldiers do not die in Ukraine.

“Hey, you, in Kyiv! By all means admire your brothers and allies! They are just animals,” Medvedev wrote on his English account on X (formerly Twitter). Medvedev also duplicated his message in Ukrainian.

The statement Medvedev is talking about was made by Duda in an interview with The Washington Post. In the same interview, the politician said that Ukraine is now unable to conduct a successful counter-offensive, despite its “much more modern military potential.” He admitted that the Ukrainian army “is unable to conduct a very decisive counter-offensive against the Russian military” due to a lack of weapons.

The Armed Forces of Ukraine (APU) have been conducting offensive operations for more than two months, since the beginning of June. The Kremlin has repeatedly stated about the lack of success of the Ukrainian army and pointed to the heavy losses of the enemy.
