The deputies of the Agricultural Commission received this Monday the executive director of the Salvadoran Coffee Council (CSC), Carolina Padilla, who gave her contributions and evaluations on the draft Special Law for the Marketing, Registration and Protection of Property of Coffee .
Among the most important aspects of the aforementioned law, the work that must be done to encourage and promote the consumption of Salvadoran coffee stands out, which will, in turn, reduce imports of coffee from other Central American countries.
Likewise, a way will be sought to organize the work of the coffee sector, both producers, processors and exporters, as expressed by the president of the Agricultural Commission, Norma Lobo, who also advocated training the personnel responsible for compliance with the law.
For his part, legislator Ricardo Rivas expressed that, with the new regulations, a window of opportunities will open for entrepreneurs from other countries and Salvadorans living abroad who want to come to invest in El Salvador in the coffee sector, taking advantage of the change in security that the country has had, with the successful fight against gangs.
