- Two banks will lend the money to Costa Rica
Drafting – The deputies of the republic approved, in second debate, a new loan for Costa Rica for $ 600 million.
This is file 22.214, which includes the loan contract signed with the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development and the Central American Bank for Economic Integration.
The objective is to finance the fiscal management and decarbonization program, as presented.
In addition, the loan resources will be disbursed in a single tract for each creditor, conditioned to the fulfillment of the previous actions according to the contracts.

Half will be contributed by one bank and the rest by the other, where the executor is the Ministry of Finance.
For his part, the official deputy Welmer Ramos assures that this plan comes at a lower interest rate better than 2% per year and with a term of 20 or 30 years, which will alleviate the pressures of the State.
He also explained that it will help reactivate the economy of the sectors hit during the pandemic.
