Deportivo: Deportivo beat Lugo in the Anxo Carro | Radio Coruña

Deportivo have inflicted the first defeat of the preseason (1-2) to CD Lugo in the match in which the rojiblancos appeared before their fans at the Anxo Carro.

In the penultimate friendly for the two Second Division Galicians, the Blue and Whites took advantage of the mistakes of their rival with two goals before the break and the locals got into the game in the second act with a goal from Jona, but could not avoid their first summer stumble.

Lugo, who appeared before his fans, generated doubts for Deportivo in defense in the first half hour of play, although he did not know how to take advantage of his arrivals in the blue and white area.

On several occasions, the rojiblancos forwards caught their back behind the rival, but they entertained themselves in the area and did not test Dani Gimenez.

Deportivo, with fewer incursions, generated more danger. Argentine Fede Cartabia put Juan Carlos to the test at eight minutes and Pedro Sánchez committed him with a foul before half an hour of play.

It was the prelude to the goal of the Coruña, which came in a counterattack that Diego Caballo led down the left wing and that central José Carlos cleared towards his own goal.

Before the break, Pedro Sánchez benefited from a couple of consecutive errors by the locals, first from Iriome in the marking and, later, from Juan Carlos, who could not clear his header.

The Lugo goalkeeper recovered at the start of the second half by clearing a header from Borja Valle, who had just replaced Cartabia.

Lugo requested a penalty from Domingos Duarte on Jona, although the referee understood that the rojiblanco player had simulated the fall. Shortly after, the local striker found the goal in a Serge Leuko cross.

Deportivo found the post at 58 minutes in a shot from Bóveda in a set piece action and Lugo changed the ten outfield players with 25 minutes to go, including José Carlos Lazo, who debuted as an rojiblanco on loan from Getafe.
