During the first half neither of the two teams took advantage, because they were balanced in an unproductive tenure and few options, the latter of better quality for the visitor.

What promised to be a heads-up match ended up more fought than played, privileging the blow to whatever came out, full of fouls and with the teams far from the last thirds.

In the 6th minute, a cross from the left, goalkeeper Sebastián Viera made a mistake in the control with his left hand and hit the ball in the leg of Uruguayan Gastón Rodriguez, who with the goal only had to push it to put an advantage to his team.

The Barranquilla team had the first risky approach at 22 minutes in a Gabriel Fuentes center, but Carmelo Valencia’s header was lost far from the right post.

The process of the match was slow, with two teams that respected each other much, more reactive than proactive. Larry Vásquez and Didier Moreno imposed their good mark and the cast ‘ñero’ achieved what they were looking for.

Freddy Hinestroza took a left foot from the ground and the ball went down the right post.

But the tie was close. In a good collective move, Hinestroza, ‘Cariaco’ and Didier Moreno entered the center of the area to beat Guillermo De Amores in the 28th minute, after the ball touched Hernán Lessse’s leg in the blocking attempt.

Gastón reappeared with a left-footed shot down, but Viera saved well.

Unfortunately, the match entered many fouls and interruptions, cutting the rhythm in which it had entered with the goals.

‘Cariaco’ got away from the mark of Jhojan Valencia and with a low left foot caused the stretch of De Amores, without anyone entering the rebound, at 39.

‘Teo’ enabled Juan Camilo Angulo, who was returning as a starter, out of the area, but Willer Ditta managed to block the shot in one of the last actions of the first episode.

Cali generated very little in attack. ‘Teo’ Gutiérrez starred in few association plays, while Jhon Vásquez and Ángelo Rodríguez had very little presence in the ‘sharks’ defensive zone.

In Junior, the Argentine Fabián Sambueza did not appear either, gone from the game and replaced in the second half.

At halftime, neither Alfredo Arias nor Arturo Reyes made variations.

At 7 minutes into the complement, an error by Hinestroza generated a quick exit from Cali on the left, from where Gastón put a cross for Teófilo, he muffled the ball in the goal, but Willer Ditta avoided the second goal from the ‘sugar players’.

On the eighth day of the League, Cali will visit Pasto on Sunday, September 5 (1:00 pm) and Junior will receive Huila that same day (8:00 pm).

Carlos Robles and Andrés Arroyo entered Cali for Andrés Colorado and Gastón Rodriguez, at 21.

In Junior, Juan David Rodríguez and Edwin Cetré did it for ‘Cariaco’ González and Fabián Sambueza, at 24.

Another clear arrival of the premises occurred at 34, with a deflected header from Vásquez.

Reyes included Cristian Martínez Borja and Marlon Piedrahita for Carmelo Valencia and Didier Moreno at 35. Also Homer Martínez for Hinestroza at 37.

Didier Luna entered Cali for Jhon Vásquez at 38. But the truth is that the new chips did not deliver much to change the face of the game.

With this result, Junior was ninth with 10 and Cali in the eleventh box with 12. On the eighth day the Verdiblancos will visit Pasto on Sunday, September 5 (1:00 pm and the ‘sharks’ will receive that same day (8: 00 pm.) To Huila.
