Deportations of 233 persons in the last week who resided illegally in Cyprus

A total of 233 persons who resided illegally in Cyprus, left the country in the last week (18-25/11/2023), as part of the Police’s efforts to return third-country nationals to their countries of origin.

In the same context, ten persons who resided illegally in Cyprus left today, with the forced return of FRONTEX. This is the 13th participation of the Cyprus Police in such operations, while Cyprus is expected to participate in two more operations by the end of the year.

It is noted that, since the beginning of the year, 8618 persons who resided illegally in Cyprus, have been repatriated to their countries of origin, through the removal procedures of immigrants residing illegally in Cyprus.

The efforts of the Police and the Aliens and Immigration Service, to maximize the number of returns, continue.
