The musician, who passed away on May 26 this year, died of an aortic rupture.
“We received the results of the medical tests a few weeks ago. Andy’s family wanted us to share them with you,” Fletcher group members wrote. They also say that although it happened much, much too early, their colleague went to the sun quickly and without long suffering.
Both members of Depeche Mode are also grateful for the love and sympathy received by fans in the weeks following Fletcher ‘s death.

Dave Gahan and Martin Gore also reveal that a commemoration of Andy Fletcher took place in London last week: “There was a beautiful ceremony with some tears and many memories of who Andy was, stories of our time together and a good laugh. Andy’s life was celebrated with “in a room full of his friends and relatives, with our immediate Depeche Mode family. There are so many people who have touched our lives and Andy’s over the years. Andrew John Leonard Fletcher (1961-2022) is one of the founders of the depophe group Depeche Mode. Depeche Mode has gained cult status with its 80s albums “Black Celebration” (1986), “Music for Masses” (1987), as well as “Violator” (1990) and “Ultra” (1997). In total, the band has released 14 studio albums, the latest of which – “Spirit” – was released in 2017. Fletcher co-produced all 14 Depeche Mode albums.
“Depeche Mode” has also performed several times in Riga, last visiting the crowded “Arena Riga” in 2018. Along with Depeche Mode, Fletcher also worked as a DJ and in 2004 performed at the Railway Museum in Riga.
