The strike call launched by several SNCF unions for Christmas vacation departures is finally lifted. Several TGV and Intercity trains will nevertheless be canceled this Friday, December 17.

Good news for travelers who had to leave by train for the Christmas holidays! Several SNCF unions had announced at the beginning of the week a strike for this first weekend of departures, from Friday to Sunday, and for the following two weekends. However, the call to strike is lifted. This day of Friday, December 17 will nevertheless be greatly peturbed.

Friday 17th December

TGV Sud-Est traffic will be “very disrupted” this Friday, December 17 with 1 TGV in 2 on average. SNCF management explains that the lifting of the strike call came too late “from an operational point of view to ensure a rise” in the number of TGVs in circulation.

Watch out for another strike call which will seriously disrupt SNCF traffic on Intercity trains between Bordeaux and Marseille, this Friday, December 17. Only 3 out of 8 trains will be provided.
