The leader of CDPQ Infra, the subsidiary of the Caisse de depot et placement du Québec (CDPQ) responsible for the Réseau express métropolitain (REM) project, announced his resignation on Monday.
La Caisse explained in a press release that the president and CEO of CDPQ Infra, Macky Tall, has accepted a position with an American investment firm.
Mr. Tall will remain in office until the end of the year to ensure a smooth transition, then take a few months off before embarking on a new stage in his career in the spring of 2021.
As leader of CDPQ Infra, Macky Tall’s mission was to oversee the largest public transit development project in Montreal in decades, the Metropolitan Express Network.
Despite his departure, the project is not at risk of being turned upside down, the CEO having “known how to develop strong and committed teams who are ready to take over”, assured the President and CEO of the CDPQ, Charles Émond.
Macky Tall will be replaced by the current CEO of CDPQ Infra, Jean-Marc Arbaud, who has held his position since September 2018.
“In this capacity, he will continue to be responsible for the team as well as for the development and management of projects piloted by CDPQ Infra, in particular that of the Réseau express métropolitain (REM),” said the Caisse.
