“The Dijon Greens, more leftist than environmentalists, are above all opportunists”, judges the president of the opposition group Agir ensemble pour Dijon within the city council.
Press release from the Agir ensemble pour Dijon group – right, center and independents of April 14, 2021:
The negotiations between Dijon’s elected officials from Europe Écologie Les Verts (EELV) and the socialist municipality, for the next departmental elections, are an open secret.
Thus, the EELV elected officials who had gone it alone in the last municipal elections, while keeping their deputy positions, are preparing to return to the fold and betray their voters less than a year later.
Gone are their sudden remorse about the concreteization of the city or the lack of local democracy.
Let us not be fooled by this imposture that we had sensed in the municipal elections. The Dijon Greens, more leftists than environmentalists, are above all opportunists.
They have never stopped waiting for positions since the evening of the first round and never intended to stand out for a long time from the municipality in place and its practices.
They are ready to sacrifice their convictions for a dish of lentils – not even organic – and to betray the commitments made to the people of Dijon by definitively rallying to the urban policy of excessive densification.
What will now be their position on Dijon concrete projects such as “Garden State” avenue de Langres, which they had voted in the majority, then criticized for a year before re-teaming with its most ardent defenders?
We, elected from the Right, the Center and the Independents to the municipal council and the council of Dijon metropolis are now the only opposition to the municipality in place, which was renewed by a minority of Dijon (43.5%) last June .
We will not change course and will remain the true guarantors of the protection of the environment and the quality of life of the people of Dijon.
