The Britain prepares to celebrate the Platinum Jubilee of the Reine Elizabeth II, or 70 years of reign. The most important festivities will take place in London, between June 2 and 5. They will begin on Thursday with the traditional Trooping the Colour, which marks the official birthday of the sovereign, with more than 1,400 soldiers, 250 horses, 400 musicians and an overview of the Royal Air Force. The Royal Family will make an appearance on the balcony of Buckingham Palace.
Grand festivities
Also on the program, a religious ceremony at Saint Paul’s Cathedral on Friday; horse racing and a big party in Buckingham on Saturday. The highlight is expected on Sunday, with the Platinum jubilee pageant, a carnival-like parade during which the entire Commonwealth will pay homage to the Queen.

At 96, Elizabeth II has largely withdrawn from public life due to mobility issues, her appearances are rare. “It is undoubtedly the last time that such a tribute is paid to him during his lifetime”, sigh Frank and Kathleen. In the meantime, the party promises to be beautiful. About 10 million people are expected to attend Jubilee picnics scheduled for Sunday, June 5, across the country.
