Wednesday morning, around 5.40 a.m., the B 3 coming from Emmendingen in the direction of Freiburg.
Apparently the driver at the gas station there lost control of his vehicle due to previously unknown circumstances and collided head-on with the guardrail of the opposite lane. Despite considerable damage to the vehicle, the person who caused the accident turned his vehicle around and left the scene of the accident without permission, without taking care of the damage to property.
The vehicle is said to have been a VW Caddy or a similar type. The driver is said to have been an approx. 60 year old man with gray hair.
