Denzel Washington, mainly known as an actor of films such as Training Day in American Gangster, started filming theater pieces a few years ago. Now he has another similar project in mind and here he doesn’t want anyone but his own son, John David Washington, for casting.
Denzel Washington has produced before Fences and the upcoming Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom. Now he wants to get started with The Piano Lesson from 1987. Washington will normally only perform as a producer, but has already contacted many big names, including his own son, who recently managed to get high Tenet. Also has Samuel L. Jackson was offered a role in the film, while Washington is thinking of directing Barry Jenkins, known from Moonlight.
What to Expect?
The Piano Lesson is about a brother and sister who disagree about what to do with their family’s piano. The brother wants to sell him to buy the land on which their ancestors worked as slaves while his sister wants to keep the piano correct.
