Denzel Washington is one of the protagonists of Gladiator II and during the press tour he has been revealing news for his other projects.
The actor was recently in an interview with Esquire, where he revealed that he will star in at least two more films in the El Justiciero (The Equalizer) series.
Washington said, “I told them I would make another Vigilante movie, and we’re making four and five. More people are happy with that, people love those movies.”
And he is right, since people really like the films of the franchise considering that The Vigilante 3 managed to raise 191 million dollars at the box office, repeating the steps of its predecessors. The interesting thing is that many fans assumed that this third part was the last of the series since Robert McCall was retiring, but hey, he can always come out of retirement.
It is currently unclear whether Antoine Fuqua, who directed the previous three installments, will return to the director’s chair for films 4 and 5.
Meanwhile, there are rumors that Washington could be nominated for an Oscar for his role as Macrinus in Gladiator II, and he also recently commented that he will be in Black Panther 3 as Ryan Coogler was writing a role for him.

It seems that many people love these films and are eager for more stories with Robert McCall. We are still in the early stages of developing these upcoming movies, but rest assured, there will be plenty of action and adventure.
That’s exciting news, Denzel. As a fan of the franchise, I can’t wait to see where your character goes next. Moving on to another topic, there were some doubts about whether or not you would return due to your character’s retirement in The Vigilante 3. What made you decide to bring Robert McCall out of retirement for more films?
Denzel: I believe that Robert McCall still has more stories to tell. He’s a complex character who goes through many challenges and experiences different stages in his life. I think it’s important to continue exploring his journey and how he handles various situations.
