“Denuvo V18 fails to stop EMPRESS from cracking Resident Evil 4 Remake: Piracy concerns continue to rise”

Even four different anti-piracy protections did not prevent the EMPRESS cracker from bypassing the game’s security Resident Evil 4 Remake and created a working crack. It simultaneously means jailbreaking the latest version of Denuva.

Capcom used Resident Evil 4 Remake Denuvo V18 together with Denuvo SecureDLC V2own Anti-Tamper a VMProtect. As in the previous cases, this crack does not remove Denuvo, but lets it run in the background.

At the beginning of this year, we wrote that in 2022 Denuvo did not protect only one game out of a total of 36. Crackers chose the action survival Dying Light 2 Stay Human from Techland. Denuvo was also used that year in FIFA 23, F1 22, Monster Hunter: Rise, Sniper Elite 5, The Callisto Protocol, Sonic Frontiers, Gotham Knights, Need for Speed ​​Unbound, Marvel’s Midnight Suns, Total War: Warhammer 3 or Two Point Campus. Some of them have already been cracked in the process.

This year it looks worse. Denuvo was breached in Hogwarts Legacy and now also in Resident Evil 4 Remake. Rumor has it that crackers have found a new way to bypass security more efficiently and quickly. Denuvo Anti-Cheat appeared in 2019 from the Austrian company Denuvo Software Solutions GmbH. and since then the protection has been improved. However, criticism continues to appear on Denuvo regarding the higher load on the processor, which affects the frame rate.
