Paloma Gómez, the first woman to assume the position, will seek to consolidate the presence that the company already has in 28 countries throughout the region
the law firm Dentons announced the appointment of Paloma Gómez as the new executive director for the Latin American and Caribbean region, within the framework of the transition process that was announced in the direction of the region about a year ago.
Gómez, the first woman to assume the executive management of the region, began her professional career in 1996, and has been linked to Dentons since 2018, after having practiced as a lawyer in Spain, the United States and Latin America, concentrating her activities on issues related to international transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, private equity and joint ventures, and international arbitration.
However, about a decade ago he changed the focus of his professional practice, devoting himself to supporting several law firms to position themselves in the market, with special emphasis on aspects such as customer service and talent development.
At that time, then, she became part of the team of partners in the Dentons office in Bogotá, from where she assumed the direction of business development for the region and, later, was promoted to the direction of clients and markets for Latin America and Caribbean.
“Clients seek the unique value that Dentons provides: a single law firm, wherever they are, to help them grow, protect, operate and finance their businesses. I see us becoming the leading law firm in Latin America and the Caribbean, and a leader in each of our markets. With our unmatched coverage, local expertise and exceptional talent, I look forward to building a more integrated region that is more than the sum of its jurisdictions and continues to put its clients first,” he said.
For his part, Elliott Portnoy, global CEO of Dentons, said: “I trust Paloma, whose understanding of the dynamic needs of our clients, along with her experience as a lawyer and leader, position the firm well as we continue to build a region still more integrated that will drive benefits to all other regions.”
