seth Lookhart, an American dentist in Anchorage, Alaska, was convicted last Friday by the Anchorage Court after a video was released in which it is possible to see the healthcare professional extracting a tooth in one hoverboard – a kind of skateboard electric with two wheels.
The lawsuit against the dentist was brought by that American state in 2017, accusing Seth Lookhart “illegal medical practices”.
“Performed the extraction from a tooth to a patient sedated while on top of a hoverboard. The moment was filmed and sent to several people ”, points out the accusation.
Citing telephone records made by the health professional, the prosecution also states that the dentist even made jokes about the situation, saying that the performance of surgeries in hoverboards it was the next step in dentistry.
Seth Lookhart was also accused of fraud for invoice Medicaid patients for treatments that were unnecessary and for having diverted $ 25,000 from the Alaska Dental Arts fund (around 22,000 euros).
The dentist’s lawyer – who pleaded not guilty – declined to comment on the case. After five weeks of trial, Seth Lookhart will know the sentence on 30 April this year.
