Density stress also moves beavers – now up to the railway embankment in Zurich-Oerlikon

After the Limmat, the Sihl, the Glatt and the Leutschenbach, beavers have now also colonized the Binzmühlebach on the railway embankment in Zurich-Oerlikon. Their population has recently declined slightly across the canton.

Beavers have settled in the Binzmühlebach on the railway embankment between Zurich-Oerlikon and Wallisellen. According to the Beaver Office, the first reports of this were in October 2023.
