Denpasar (ANTARA) – The Denpasar City Government, Bali Province continues to increase early awareness of cases of Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF), so that mass spraying is carried out in the local city.
“Currently the dengue fever season, therefore the government continues to carry out mass spraying to reduce diseases caused by Aedes aegypti and Aedes albopictus mosquitoes,” said Head of Public Relations and Communications for Denpasar City Government Leaders, I Dewa Gede Rai in Denpasar, Sunday.
He said that at this time the community was in the midst of facing the COVID-19 pandemic, and they were also expected to be aware of the dengue fever.
“We hope that residents are also aware of dengue disease, therefore people must pay attention to the surrounding environment. Do not let there be puddles of water that have the potential to become mosquito nests,” he said.

Meanwhile, the Head of Panjer, South Denpasar District, I Putu Budi Ari Wibawa, said that his residents worked together to carry out mass spraying (mass fogging).
“Residents look very enthusiastic and they point out places that are suspected of being breeding grounds for mosquitoes in the area where they live. With this fogging, it is hoped that no residents will get DB disease anymore,” he said.
He said spraying or fogging carried out in Panjer Village was an anticipatory measure or prevention from dengue mosquito bites. This step is also in accordance with the direction of the Mayor of Denpasar so that Panjer Village seeks to participate in the prevention of DHF by spraying.
He said that dengue prevention would be more effective if it was balanced with eradicating mosquito nests, using 3M Plus, namely by closing water reservoirs, draining baths and water reservoirs at least once a week and stockpiling trash and tree holes that could potentially as a breeding ground for mosquito larvae.

Besides that, it can also be done by taking additional actions such as keeping fish that eat mosquito larvae, using mosquito nets while sleeping, spraying with insecticides, installing insect repellent, checking mosquito larvae regularly and other actions that are in accordance with local conditions.
“With our efforts, we hope that the development of dengue fever mosquitoes can be overcome, and people can live healthy lives and avoid the diseases that are transmitted by mosquitoes,” said I Putu Budi Ari Wibawa.
