Although Dennis initially did not intend to write about his father’s kidnapping, he has now, 37 years later, decided to turn his memories into a thriller. He draws inspiration from his personal experiences and the impact the kidnapping has had on his life.

“Blood flows where it cannot go,” says Dennis Heijn about his choice to write about an event that is so deeply intertwined with his own identity. Through his thriller he hopes to not only tell an exciting story. But also to pay tribute to his father’s life and legacy.
