Aalborg Handbold mehrere Monate ohne Mads Hoxer
Personnel setback for Denmark’s champions Aalborg Håndbold, because Mads Hoxer, a top performer, will be out in the coming months. The backcourt player will also miss the 2025 Handball World Cup in his own country.
“It’s an unfortunate situation, especially for Mads, but also for the whole team, because of course it’s a big loss. We tried pretty much everything to avoid surgery, but we also had to admit that we were in this “I’ve only seen glimpses of the version of Mads Hoxer we want to see on the pitch this season,” emphasizes Aalborg’s managing director Jan Larsen.
“The shoulder has been bothering me since the spring and the injury has gradually gotten worse, even though we have tried different treatments. It is of course a great disappointment to be looking forward to a long injury break and rehabilitation, but in my current condition “I’m not nearly able to play the way I want,” explains Mads Hoxer, explaining the situation.
“After an examination at the Private Hospitalet Capio, we, together with our medical staff, decided that the only real solution is to operate on Mads’ shoulder, which will happen later this week. After that, there will be at least five months of rehabilitation, so we hope and believe that Mads will be ready for action again at the end of the men’s league,” Larsen hopes to play in the play-offs.
