More than 5,000 new infections were registered in Denmark in the last 24 hours. In addition, more than 400 cases of omicron infection have now been registered in the country.
The health authorities are now giving up the targeted measures to curb the omicron infection.
– We have previously had an extended infection tracing that also included close contacts’ close contacts so that we could delay the spread of the omicron variant in Denmark, says Deputy Director Helene Probst at the National Board of Health.
– This strategy is only possible during a period with few infected. We can state that there has been a sharp increase in the number of people infected with the omicron variant with a number of outbreaks in Denmark. That is why we are changing the guidelines, she says.
