On Wednesday night, Denmark will introduce a number of restrictions to stop the infection of the corona. The Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen will present the measures that apply from Friday.
Nightlife is now forced to shut down at night. Among other things, there will be a stop to visiting nightclubs and a ban on the sale of alcohol in shops between midnight and 5 am in Denmark.
In addition, there will be an early Christmas holiday for many students. Danish primary school students will be sent home from 15 December to 5 January.
Mouthpieces are again mandatory as long as you are standing in restaurants and restaurants. It is strongly recommended to cancel all major social events the rest of the year – also at Christmas. Businesses are also encouraged to cancel Christmas lunches due to the high infection rates. Concerts and the like are also restricted – a maximum of 50 people can now participate in such events.
Omikron came to Denmark ten days ago. On Wednesday, more than 500 cases were confirmed in total by the new corona variant.
– We still believe it is still possible to keep large parts of society open. These measures will help us avoid a new and extensive shutdown, says Frederiksen.
