The Ministry of Defense informed that the tanks will be delivered at the beginning of 2024 and that the cost of their purchase, which will reach 165 million euros, will be divided equally between the two countries.

“In this way, we will jointly participate in the “Leopard 2″ coalition, which is supported by many partners and allies,” the ministry said in a statement.

On the other hand, the Minister of Defense of the Netherlands, Kaisa Olongren, announced that “the security of Ukraine and Europe are inextricably linked”.

Last month, Germany already delivered 18 “Leopard” heavy tanks to Ukraine, and Britain, respectively, 14 “Challenger 2” tanks.

ISW: In Russia there is a purge in the security institutions

Analysts at the US Institute for the Study of War (ISW) believe that internal security purges are underway in Russia to get rid of employees unwanted by the Kremlin.

In the Federal Security Service (FSB), by all accounts, a large-scale inspection of internal security institutions is underway, according to representatives of the American think tank.

As explained by the Russian media, the cleaning was carried out because “at the request of Ukrainian citizens, there was a data leak of the Russian special services”.

There are reports of raids by the FSB and the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Moscow police departments, high-ranking officers of the Russian National Guard have been dismissed from their positions.

The Kremlin encourages such arrests and investigations to inspect the internal security apparatus and get rid of officials who have fallen outside Kremlin control, as well as to further consolidate control of internal security agencies.
