Denkendorf: For a lot of fun – Denkendorf primary school teachers have prepared special carnival envelopes for the children

Primary school teachers and parents were active for a “Carnival at home” and came up with something for it. Vice-principal Marion Gretzer and parent Katja Hanrieder (from left).

At the primary school in Denkendorf this weekend, every child in the first and second grades can pick up the carnival for home from a chest and the carnival ship.

Loving “Helau envelopes” are waiting in front of the doors of the primary school in Denkendorf – the exclamation is the carnival battle cry in Denkendorf. “Helau dear children, I am happy that you are doing great work in homeschooling. You have now earned a little carnival break on the weekend.” With these introductory words, the children of their primary school teachers Ida Vierthaler, Julia Feustel, Carolin Kiermaier, Sabine Henes and Verena Petschl welcomed in a letter.

As soon as the letter is opened, colorful confetti, penny candies and paper for handicrafts flutter out. The authors suggest: “You can do that. Create your own Mardi Gras medal for Mardi Gras 2021 at home with funny motifs. Make your own garland with colored paper. Paint it with a pattern or even expand it with white paper,” it says, among other things. “Invite your family members to a little house ball in the dining room, kitchen or living room. Make arrangements with the parents that you can prepare the right meal (donuts, sausages or a roast with dumplings) depending on the time of day. Find some nice carnival music , sings and sways with the Denkendorf song. “

It should just be a warm, colorful and happy carnival. And for the elderly it could be an example to be active in a similar way, say the makers. Katja Hanrieder added: “Of course, in consultation with your parents, you can decorate your house with balloons, garlands and streamers in time for Mardi Gras. This is how it will be colorful in Denkendorf.”

Thanks to Christine Missbichler, the parents’ spokeswoman for the elementary and middle school in Denkendorf, and Katja Hanrieder for the idea and the organization. Another thanks goes to Ida Vierthaler for writing the carnival letter and of course to the teachers. EK
