Back in June, doctors gave Denise Zajícová a year to live. The cancer returned to the former participant of the MasterChef Czech show and the brain tumors grew rapidly. However, now she is experiencing joyful moments, because the treatment took her away. But it is very expensive.
People may remember Denisa Zajícová, formerly Cziglova, as one of the participants in the MasterChef Czech Republic 2019 program. In 2014, she was diagnosed with a brain tumor and had to undergo a total of four operations. Although her health seemed to improve for a while, the tumors returned. And they were much more aggressive.
“The situation in June looked like I would be here for a year at most. The tumors were mutated in my head, multiplying and growing quickly,” Denisa described on Instagram.
One option was expensive treatments. The family therefore organized a fundraiser and collected enough money thanks to good people. Denisa finally started biological treatment. And it bore fruit. Aggressive tumors have responded to drugs for lung cancer patients.
“I guess I’m a lucky woman, I’m 1 in 30 patients for whom the treatment works and I’ve had none of the side effects that I was warned in advance that there would be. Body swelling, nausea, vomiting, fainting and severe diarrhea. Knock, knock .
According to Denisa, the results are absolutely amazing. “I am very happy. I received the nicest gift from life. The tumors shrink by up to 60% and the smaller ones are completely gone,” she said.
“I am very, very grateful to the Masaryk Oncology Institute for the research and the drug they found for me that can prolong my life. I am very grateful to my family and friends for their amazing support. And I am very grateful to you for your incredible support and that I could afford this expensive treatment, Denisa thanked.
At the same time, she hopes that the insurance company will also support her financially. “Just so you understand, I must never stop taking these drugs, otherwise the tumors would come back. That’s the mutation. The price is high, 200,000 a month. So now it’s 800,000 in four months. Of course, it’s the best life investment for me , but that amount is a massacre,” lamented Zajícová.
Denisa is convinced that a person must do his best for his recovery and support treatment in another way. “If I have experienced the greatest happiness and sincere joy in tears in my life, it is right now. And I believe in miracles,” she concluded.
