Canadian director Denis Villeneuve stated in an interview with “Empire” magazine his desire to shoot a third part of “Dune”.
The director emphasized that he would like to continue to “explore the desert planet” created by Frank Herbert in a third Dune film.
“If I manage to create a trilogy, it will be my dream come true,” Villeneuve said.
It was previously reported that Warner Bros. is pushing back Dune 2 to 2024 due to the ongoing writers and actors strike.
The film stars Timothée Chalamet, Rebecca Ferguson, Zendaya, Florence Pugh, Léa Seydoux, Christopher Walken, Austin Butler, Suheila Yacoub, Stellan Skarsgård, Charlotte Rampling and Stephen Henderson.
The music for the film was written by composer Hans Zimmer, who won an Oscar for creating the soundtrack to the first part of the story.
