Slovak football defender Denis Vavro has once again become a regular player of the Danish club FC Copenhagen. The 26-year-old native of Partizánské signed a contract with the 14-time champion of the country until the end of 2026. FCK’s official website reports about it.

After the end of the 2016/2017 season, Vavro transferred from Žilina to Copenhagen. After two successful years in the Danish capital, he moved to the Italian Lazio Rome. However, it did not gain ground on the Apennine Peninsula. In January of this year, he went to FC Copenhagen on loan, which has now turned into a transfer. Previously, from Lazio, he also visited Huesca in Spain.

“We are very happy that we managed to bring Denis back to Copenhagen,” said FCK sporting director Peter Christiansen. “Everyone knows his qualities. He is a defender with international qualities, with his defensive skills and strength a level or two above the Danish Superliga. He is a top player and it is not often that we manage to sign a player from a top club in Serie A,” he added.

Vavro perceives the move to Copenhagen positively. “It was like coming home for me. I’ve always felt comfortable at the club and I’m ready to play a bigger role than the last time I was here. I’m looking forward to the future in Copenhagen, where we’ll fight for the league title and the cup, and we’ll also have a chance to play big matches in Europe,” stated Vavro.
