The match of the 26th round of the Ukrainian Championship 2007/2008 between Metalist and Karpaty, which ended in a crushing victory for the Kharkov team with a score of 4:0, was declared a fixed match a few years later.
“I entered the field not knowing that the match was fixed. I found out about this only years later. I just went out on the field and played. It was hard against Metalist. I was young and couldn’t even think that this was happening. Why should I worry? I’m confident in myself. It was simply unpleasant that some people came and conducted interrogations,” Kozhanov said.
