“Dengue Outbreak in Kudus Regency: 59 Cases and 2 Deaths Recorded in January-April 2023”

TRIBUNMURIA.COM, HOLY – Pusekemas Bae, Kudus Regency recorded 59 cases of Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) occurring from January to April 2023.

Of these, two of which infected children resulted in death.

The rest underwent treatment in hospital and recovered.

Epidemiological surveillance officer at the Bae Health Center, Agus Gunarto said, two children who died from contracting dengue were aged 3 and 4 years which occurred last January.

Agus said that the most cases this year occurred in January with a total of 30 cases.

Consists of 16 men and 14 women with an age range of 1-39 years.

Followed by February with 17 cases, March with 5 cases, and April with 7 cases of DHF.

“Most cases are in January because it’s still the rainy season.”

Agus said, DHF cases can cause death if the infected immune system is weak.

Usually it is also possible due to late handling and other factors.

Because of this, early detection is needed regarding suspected DHF so that they can be immediately taken to the health center or hospital, so that treatment can be carried out more quickly.

“Get to know the general characteristics first, usually the heat is up to 38 degrees Celsius, it goes up and down even though you have been given a fever reducer for a period of two days.”

“If it’s like that, it’s better to take it to the doctor to be examined,” he said.
