This was conveyed by the Head of Disease Prevention and Control of the Batang Health Office, Yuli Suryandaru, Friday 12 May 2023.
“In terms of the number of cases, it is not too far from the number of cases in 2022. It’s just that the number of deaths is higher, because this April there were 3 people who died. Whereas in 2022, 8 out of 372 cases died,” he said.
Yuli also mentioned that there were several districts where dengue was endemic. Especially in the sub-districts in the northern coast of Batang. Such as in Batang Kota, Gringsing, Banyuputih, Tulis and Kandeman.
“Until now there have been around 50 fogging points in Batang. Until the end of the year, the Batang Health Office only had a budget of around 120 fogging points,” he explained.

“So usually when there is a case, the Puskesmas conducts monitoring, and if larvae and dengue virus are found, we will immediately do fogging or fumigation,” he added.
He hopes that DHF can be anticipated in the long term through the habit of eradicating mosquito nests. Which can be done at least once a week while cleaning the surrounding environment.
“The increased risk of death due to dengue fever is due to a delay in diagnosis. Many patients are treated late during the critical phase of dengue fever,” he said.

Of the three cases of death, said Yuli, they occurred at the age of children. Where children are one of the most vulnerable to contracting the dengue virus.
