As an effort to protect the public from the threat of the dengue virus, the party is currently waiting for recommendations from the Indonesia Technical Advisory Group of Immunization (ITAGI) to make dengue vaccination mandatory for the Indonesian people.
“Just wait for recommendations from ITAGI, as soon as possible,” he said.
Nadia explained that dengue fever is transmitted through the Aedes Aegypti mosquito vector which has a habitat in tropical countries like Indonesia.
Therefore, he said, detecting viral infections early and controlling mosquito reproduction is the key to managing and preventing dengue fever.
Apart from that, the community must carry out movements to prevent dengue fever through the 3M Program (Drain, Cover and Bury) regularly, especially when the rainy season is approaching.
He appealed to the public to immediately get initial treatment at the nearest health facility (faskes) if they experience symptoms of dengue infection.
