Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) Cases Decrease in West Bangka Regency – Health Office Reports

BANGKAPOS.COM, BANGKA — The West Bangka Regency Health Office noted that from January to June 2023 there had been 134 cases and one patient died as a result of contracting Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF).

This number has decreased significantly compared to 2022, when there were 710 cases of dengue fever and nine patients died in this area.

Head of the West Bangka Regency Health Service (Kadinkes), Muhammad Safi’i Rangkuti said, during the past six months there have been 134 cases with one death.

“This year there have been 134 DHF cases with 1 death. Those who died were in February in the Simpangteritip area,” said MS Rangkuti, Wednesday (12/7/2023).

Rangkuti said, although there was one death case in Simpangteritip, so far the most cases of DHF were found in the Parittiga District area. Of the hundreds of cases of DHF, the most occurred in January.

“So out of the 134 cases, the highest was in January, there were 45 cases. Then in February 33, March 27, April 15, May 10 and in June 4 cases. In July it is running and we are still recapitulating the data,” he said.

Even though DHF cases are still relatively high, Rangkuti ensures that DHF cases in West Bangka have decreased significantly when compared to 2022.

“Last year there were up to 710 cases and 9 deaths, this year although it is continuing to fall and there are no additional deaths. The cases have fallen far from more than 700, it immediately plunged into the lowest possible figure of all time,” he said.

Rangkuti said, the decline in dengue cases could not be separated from the hard work done by his agency. Starting from carrying out counseling and outreach to schools and the community continuously.

“For 0 cases it is indeed rather difficult, because the pattern of our society is mobile. But to get down to this lowest point I think is very good. We have indeed been making various efforts so far. There has been outreach to schools, to the community and provision to midwives village and others,” he said.

Rangkuti appealed and asked the people in this area to continue to adopt a clean lifestyle and maintain a clean environment. Then carry out the Eradication of Mosquito Nests (PSN) using the 3M Plus method (Draining, Closing, Recycling Used Goods). (Bangkapos.com/Yuranda)
