TRIBUNJATIM.COM, BLITAR – Cases of Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) in Blitar City are again experiencing an increasing trend.
From January to July 2023, the Blitar City Health Service (Dinkes) found 21 cases of DHF in three sub-districts in Blitar City.
“The trend of DHF cases in Blitar City has increased this July. If the accumulated number of DHF cases in Blitar City from January to July 2023 there are 21 cases,” said the Junior Expert Health Administrator for the Blitar City Health Office, Trianang Setyawan, Wednesday (9/8/2023) .
Trianang said the findings of dengue cases in Blitar City were indeed high in early 2023.

“Last July the number of dengue cases found again rose to four cases,” he said.
He said, DHF cases in Blitar City were dominated by patients aged 5-14 years with eight cases. Then there were four cases of patients aged 15-44 years.
“There are no deaths from dengue this year. On average, all patients recover,” he said.
According to him, there are three strategies for handling DHF cases in Blitar City, including passive case finding and active case finding.
Passive case finding means that when a patient seeks treatment at a health care facility, a DHF examination will be carried out.

While active case finding, that is, when there are reports of DHF case findings, health care facilities actively come to the patient’s house to ascertain whether there are other patients who are also experiencing DHF symptoms.
In addition, officers also see whether mosquito larvae are found in the environment where the patient lives.
“If found, immediately eradicate mosquito nests around the environment where the DHF patient lives. If possible, fogging is also carried out in the environment,” he said.
Trianang appealed to the public to remain vigilant with the transmission of DHF. He asked the public to adopt a healthy lifestyle and maintain a clean environment.
