Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever Cases in Serang Regency Throughout 2023

SERANG, RADARBANTEN.CO.ID- Throughout 2023, there will be 201 cases of dengue hemorrhagic fever (DBD) in Serang Regency. The most cases occurred in Kramatwatu District, namely 20 cases.

Head of the Serang District Health Service, Rahmat Fitriadi, admitted that during 2023 the development of dengue fever cases in Serang District would not be very significant.

“DHF cases during 2023 until last week were recorded at 201 cases out of the 1.7 million residents of Serang Regency,” he said, Sunday 31 December 2023.

In fact, during the transition season like now, there is no spike in cases in Serang Regency. “This is a transition season, thank God there has been no significant spike in cases. Usually, when our surveillance shows something, there is an early warning. “Right now it’s not significant,” he stressed.

Of the number of cases that occurred in Serang Regency, there are three sub-districts that have the highest number of cases. “The top 3 are Kramatwatu District with 20 cases, Jawilan with 19 cases, and Cikande with 16 cases,” he explained.

Nevertheless, his party appealed to the public to always be careful because in the rainy season like now there is the potential for mosquitoes carrying dengue fever to breed.

For this reason, he asked the public to minimize the presence of standing water which could cause mosquitoes to breed.

“If there is a puddle of water, it must be drained, and if there is a container that can hold water, it must be thrown away. If there is water there, disease-causing mosquitoes can lay their eggs there. The bathroom tub must be drained once a week, if there is rubbish that can hold water it must be thrown away. “Banana stems must also be thrown away and buried,” he concluded.
