BANJABARU – The high cases of dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF) in Banjarbaru City have received attention from the Banjarbaru City DPRD.
It was recorded that up to mid-April 2023, there have been 108 cases of DHF found in the Capital City of South Kalimantan Province.
Chairman of Commission I DPRD Banjarbaru City, Takyin Baskoro asked the Banjarbaru City Government (Pemko) through the Health Office to immediately prevent transmission and control of dengue cases.
Furthermore, he asked the Health Office to take the steps that should have been taken from the start, so that from now on they have to carry out intensive prevention so that no more DHF positive residents will be added.
“We monitor and communicate with each other so that this problem can be handled more quickly in Banjarbaru City,” he said recently when met by Radar Banjarmasin.
He emphasized that the Health Office should not run out of ideas in dealing with diseases caused by mosquito bites.
According to him, there are many ways the Health Office can continuously tackle DHF, for example by intensively educating the public about the importance of carrying out the 3M Plus movement.
“We also provide input from observations from outside the region in dealing with DHF. Maybe it can be applied in Banjarbaru,” he explained.
He admitted, the number of dengue cases was quite a lot in the last three months. However, the trend of dengue case findings has begun to decline.
Therefore, this Nasdem politician appreciates the efforts to prevent dengue by the Banjarbaru Health Office.
Responding to this, the Head of the Banjarbaru City Health Office Dr. Juhai Triyanti Agustina said the number of cases that went through hundreds was influenced by the recent rainy season in Banjarbaru City.
However, currently his party has been intensively conducting outreach to the public so that they continue to promote the 3M Plus Mosquito Nest Eradication (PSN) movement.
By draining water reservoirs, closing water reservoirs, burying used goods.
As well as avoiding mosquito bites by using mosquito nets and turning on mosquito coils.
“Therefore, the City of Banjarbaru launched the Gertak Bapuputik (Simultaneous Movement of Banjarbaru Sweep and Exterminate Larvae) DHF mosquitoes,” he said.
With regard to the DHF case, he asked the community to take better care of the environment. What is the government’s recommendation in preventing the growth of mosquitoes, to be obeyed as best as possible.
“How do people want to carry out at least one week cleaning the surrounding environment,” he concluded. (zkr/yn/bin)
