Dengue Fever Update: 5 Regions with Highest Death Rates Revealed



Jakarta, DISWAY.ID – The outbreak of Dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF) has not yet ended as the transmission season is still ongoing.

Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin said dengue fever must be treated seriously now.

Dengue fever is an arbovirus disease transmitted by insect bites.

So the way, said Budi, is to develop a strategy to overcome the problem of Arbovirosis, and to be more open to the approaches we need to take.

In the International Conference Arbovirus Indonesia 2024, which is an implementation of international cooperation in helping countries to improve preparedness, prevention and treatment of Arboviruses, there are at least five things that were the focus should be on dealing with infectious diseases such as arbovirosis.

Based on data from the Indonesian Ministry of Health, up to the 14th week of April 2024, registered dengue cases in Indonesia reached 60,296 cases, with 455 deaths.

This figure has more than doubled, from the 17th week of the previous year (2023), that is 28,579 cases with 209 deaths.

Number of dengue cases: 76,132 cases Number of dengue deaths: 540 deaths

In the same period in week 16 of 2023, the number of dengue fever cases was 25,050 cases with 180 deaths.
