A large-scale dengue fever outbreak broke out in Argentina. The Ministry of Health announced that so far this year, more than 41,200 cases have been confirmed in the capital and 14 provinces, including 32 deaths.
Authorities say that this year is the deadliest year for dengue fever in Argentina since 2009. The main reason is that since last year, the country has seen continuous high temperature and dry weather that has been rare in nearly 60 years, leading to a large number of mosquito breeding.
The Ministry of Health emphasizes that mosquito control is the most effective way to stop transmission. The authorities have carried out large-scale mosquito control across the country, and asked residents everywhere to clean and disinfect their homes, reminding people to seek medical attention immediately if they feel unwell after being bitten by mosquitoes.
