KENDAL, KOMPAS.com-The high number of cases of dengue fever (DHF) in Kendal Regency, Central Java, is of particular concern to the local government.
The Regional Secretary of the Kendal Regency government, Sugiono, admitted that his party had held a dengue fever awareness coordination meeting with the Health Service, Community Health Center and sub-district heads throughout Kendal Regency on Tuesday (5/03/2024) evening.
During the meeting, Sugiono asked all hospitals to add more beds.
He said that the circular requesting beds was still being drafted today.

“I ask for additional beds in all hospitals. “Including the Soewondo Kendal Regional General Hospital (RSUD),” said Sugiono, Wednesday (6/03/2024).
Apart from that, added Sugiono, his party asked all parties to increase water channel cleaning and spraying activities to prevent dengue hemorrhagic fever.
“This is to reduce dengue cases,” said Sugiono.
Regarding this, the deputy director of Soewondo Kendal Hospital, Mohammad Wibowo, said that today his party had prepared 28 additional beds for dengue patients. 12 of the beds have been prepared today.
“As for the number of patients, I don’t know for sure, because the data is at the hospital. “What is clear is that we can still accommodate dengue fever patients,” added Bowo.
As has been reported, cases of dengue fever in Kendal Regency, Central Java, are high.
From data from the Kendal Health Service, from January to early March 2024, 114 cases of dengue fever were recorded and 13 of them died.
